Alex Ruiz was born on June 18, 1981 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico as Alejandro Ruiz Fernandez. He is an actor, known for ¿Quién es quién? (2015), Best of Both Worlds (2012) and Borderline (2009). (Credits:

Alex Ruiz has become an example of a multicultural hispanic man working and living in the United States.

Nuestro Magazine had a great interview with Alex. We spoke about his childhood, family and his bilingual, multicultural roots.   We also spoke about not only his thoughts on diversity in Hollywood, but his current acting roles and how he hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams.

Alex is presently part of an ensemble cast starring in Telemundo’s popular new telenovela, ¿Quién es quién? (Who is Who?). The prime-time romantic comedy involves two brothers who switch identities to get through life’s ups and downs. Alex plays “The Terminator” or “Termi.”

“El Terminator, ‘Termi’ is the quintessential good guy,” explains Alex. “The best friend of Perico (the protagonist), he would do quite literally anything for him. The problem is that he's madly in love with Cocó who, in turn, is in love with Perico.”

The weekday nightly prime time series is quickly becoming the most watched Latin television show in the United States. It is a key ingredient in Telemundo/NBC Universal’s arsenal to best rival network Univision for #1.

An accomplished voice actor, Alex next plays the precocious sidekick “Monty the Meerkat” in Nickelodeon’s cartoon series, Wissper to be launched this spring. Alex also voices a myriad of characters from 10 year old kids to 70 year old Canadians and others only South Park creatives can come up with.

He is becoming involved in the National Hispanic Media Coalition to address the lack of Latino inclusion in Hollywood, expanded union membership and equal pay.

Thank you Alex Ruiz for a great interview.  @alex54ruiz @nuestromagazine
